Bruce Salisbury, LCSW

Welcome,
The therapy space may be new for you, or something you have some experience with—either is okay. I became a therapist because I deeply believe in the power of human connection. We all deserve someone who sees us, supports us, and believes in our capacity to grow. I strive to be the kind of therapist I needed during my hardest times—compassionate, present, and collaborative.

I work with people of all ages and backgrounds, from children to elders, and with anyone seeking deeper clarity, connection, or support. Whether you’re coping with stress, anxiety, grief, trauma, chronic pain, or just feeling a bit lost—this is a space for you.

My approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and centered on your humanity. You can expect a safe and authentic space where your voice is central, and where vulnerability is welcomed. I believe you are the expert of your own experience.

I’m here to support you in reconnecting with your strengths and navigating the challenges that arise. You are enough, just as you are—and you don’t have to face things alone. I look forward to meeting you.

There’s no single “right” way to be human. We are ever-evolving, shaped by our minds, bodies, spirits, and the stories we carry. My work centers on creating space for you to explore all parts of yourself with honesty and care—whether you’re healing from the past, navigating the present, or working toward the life you want.

Stress &
Anxiety
Stress and anxiety can be overwhelming. I support people from all walks of life in navigating the mental, emotional, and physical impacts of stress and anxiety.
Drawing from cognitive therapies, Internal Family Systems, narrative and solution-focused approaches, I tailor our work to meet your unique needs.
With a trauma-informed lens and an awareness of how stress lives in the body, I’ll help you develop tools to cope in the moment and explore the deeper roots beneath your anxiety.

Grief
Grief can arise from many forms of loss—whether it's the death of a loved one, the anticipation of loss, or significant life changes. I offer a trauma-informed, compassionate space to help you process the emotional complexities that come with grief.

I currently work in a hospital setting, supporting individuals and families facing grief in real time. My background in palliative and hospice care informs my whole-person approach—meeting you where you’re at.

Together, we’ll honor your grief, make meaning of your experience, and find ways to live that continue to honor who or what you’ve lost.

Chronic Pain &
Illness
Your pain is real—and you don’t have to face it alone. I work with people living with chronic pain or illness, offering a space of care and validation.
With a background in neuroscience, I bring a unique understanding of how pain affects—and is affected by—the brain and nervous system.

Using a biopsychosocial approach, we explore how your body, mind, and environment shape your pain experience. Whether you're hoping to cope, reduce symptoms, or better understand what your body is communicating, we’ll work toward what matters most to you.

Neuroscience
My background in neuroscience and social work informs how I understand and approach therapy. Through this lens, I explore how your experiences—especially early ones—shape the brain, influencing how you perceive, respond to, and move through the world.

This perspective helps make sense of patterns in a concrete and destigmatizing way. Whether we’re looking at the effects of childhood experiences, chronic stress, or trauma, neuroscience offers insight and hope by showing that our brains can continue to grow and change. Together, we can explore ways to support your mental health through that ongoing development.
